Game 1 Diary---Innings 1-3

"Baseball is a leisurely game that demands blinding speed, and the only one in which the defense has the ball. It follows the seasons, beginning each year with the fond expectancy of springtime and ending with the hard facts of autumn . . . ...It is a haunted game in which every player is measured against the ghosts of all who have gone before. Most of all it is about time and timelessness, speed and grace, failure and loss, imperishable hope--and coming home." Unknown-in K Burns Baseball

Through five hitters, Weaver is obviously laying it on the line. That, and the Fox Gun is a bit high.
Would have been nice to see Wilson make that play. But Floyd isn't right. I'd be surprised to see him back in left. Pleasantly surprised.
Endy in left. I say the gun looks a bit high, but Glavine is still in the mid-80's. Perhaps Weaver is banking on five and done.
And the first baserunner of the NLCS is Yadier. What a game
Gotta love the Weaver hit, but can you think of two worse baserunners to be on base at the same time? It will take a triple to score Molina from second.
And the Cards with nothing to show for four well struck balls.
Glavine certainly didn't paint any corners in inning 1-3. Good omen?
This just in. The Mets have some calf problems.
Weaver's fastball down to 89. This could be bad.
Molina pounces on the bunt and throws out Green.
Molina is one of those rare people who is faster pouncing on bunts than he is running the bases. We need to time Molina "pouncing" around the bases.
